General Skills
The four general skills affect core gameplay mechanics that every player uses.
Navigation
Section titled “Navigation”BP per round = (Navigation / 4) + 4The most important skill in the game. Every 4 points in Navigation grants 1 additional BP per round. More BP means more actions, more travel, more income, more everything.
See Turn System for the full BP mechanics.
Trading (Negotiation)
Section titled “Trading (Negotiation)”Affects buy and sell prices at planets (not player stations). Higher Trading skill means better deals when buying upgrades or selling resources at planetary markets.
This skill has no effect on player-to-player transactions or station prices.
Stealth
Section titled “Stealth”Makes you invisible in crowded systems. Your stealth value is compared against other players’ Sensor skill to determine if they can see you.
Useful for:
- Avoiding pirates in dangerous systems
- Moving cargo undetected
- Scouting enemy positions
Sensors
Section titled “Sensors”Determines how many ships you can see in a sector:
Visible ships = 5 + (Sensors / 5)Ships with the lowest stealth values are shown first. High Sensors lets you spot hidden players that others miss.
| Sensors | Visible Ships |
|---|---|
| 0 | 5 |
| 25 | 10 |
| 50 | 15 |
| 100 | 25 |
Skill Investment Priority
Section titled “Skill Investment Priority”For most players, the recommended investment order is:
- Navigation — Always the top priority
- One income skill — Resource gathering or Trading
- Combat skills — If you plan to fight
- Sensors/Stealth — Situational, depends on playstyle
